Wonky Sheep was born out of frustration at paying for overpriced, ready-made stag packages which could be done for the same standard but at a lower cost without going down the cheap route.
Bespoke options were not really a thing back in 2013 and so the business started more as a hobby to offer that and was aimed at people who didn’t have time to organise, didn’t know where to start, didn’t want the hassle or simply couldn’t be bothered.
Why do we not go down the “cheap” route? Our experience has shown cheap isn’t always the best option and can often bring problems which we want to avoid for the traveller and ourselves. Sometimes paying that little bit more for a better standard trip and service can make your experience more memorable for the right reasons.
Wonky Sheep has never been about following everyone else and we do things in our own way. From stag and hen we gradually added other options such as activity weekends, city breaks and event planning which in turn led to sports trips for amateur sports clubs’ pre-season and end-of-season tours.
As time went on, we started to organise supporter travel for football and rugby, as well as travel arrangements for professional sports teams and academies, assisting with UK and European travel for competitive matches.
But when Wales qualified for the Euros in 2016 fans started asking us about doing travel which we did and France turned out to be the greatest summer for Welsh football.
We later became the official Wales fan travel partner and held a similar role with Northern Ireland while more recently we have started providing travel for Scotland fans.
Business travel is another key feature of our offering, ranging from SMEs to well-known organisations. We offer various business travel solutions as well as help with corporate event planning and logistics. The B2B side of the business also provides a personal service and has been growing with larger clients such as We Buy Any Car having used our accommodation services for training events up and down the country.
